ADDICTION TREATMENT TO EXPAND
A massive federal grant will help expand Milwaukee County's voucher
program for substance abuse patients, helping 3,000 people afford
addiction treatment over the next 3 years.
Gov. Jim Doyle presented a $22.7 million voucher to Milwaukee County
officials Wednesday afternoon at the Meta House, 2626 N. Bremen St.,
an addiction treatment center for indigent women, mothers and
expecting mothers.
Wisconsin was one of 15 states and American Indian tribes to receive
the funding, an Access to Recovery Grant from the U.S. Department of
Health and Human Services.
