MAN GETS 40 YEARS FOR SHABU POSSESSION
The law is harsh but it is the law.
A Manila judge yesterday sentenced a 23-year-old man to a maximum of
40 years in jail for possession of some 224 grams of shabu four years
ago.
In a nine-page decision penned by Judge Rodolfo Ponferrada of the
Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 41, accused Hassan Mama Mauna, a
native of Marawi City and resident of 645 Carlos Palanca St., Quiapo,
Manila, was proven guilty of violating Section 16, Article III of the
Revised Penal Code.
Aside from the jail term, the court also ordered the accused to pay
P500,000 in penalty.
