DUTERTE CONSIDERS ROGUE MINORS AS MAIN PROBLEMS
For Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, the main problems of the city are minors
that have been involved in criminal activities.
"At the young age of 12, a teenager told me that he had already
participated in many robbery incidents," Duterte said during the
induction of officers of the Talakayan Balitaan at Kalaaman.
Because of this, the mayor said his administration will intensify its
efforts of running after teenagers involved in criminal activities.
Aside from joining criminal activities, many of these minors have
become dependent on illegal drugs, particularly methamphetamine
hydrochloride or shabu.
"These teenagers buy their shabu supply in Bankerohan, Matina Aplaya
and Dumalag," he said as he also called on the media and the public to
help him solve juvenile delinquency.
One way to solve the problem, he said, is that the city government is
looking at providing them with jobs and shelters.
