RETHINK DRUG POLICY
To the editor:
Re: "Time to abandon failed marijuana strategy" column Aug. 4.
Our grandparents must have been a lot smarter than we are. They
didn't waste time setting up an education program or by turning a
blind eye to illicit stills when they realized that prohibiting
alcohol was causing more harm than good. They simply ended alcohol
prohibition.
The best way of reducing the harm and heartbreak inflicted by illegal
drugs on users and non-users alike is to end drug prohibition.
