SAFE-INHALATION SITE CRUCIAL FOR TREATMENT

Safe-inhalation and safe-injection sites are not intended just to provide a
fix; they are intended to provide drug users with the ability to get their
fix safely as part of a harm-reduction approach. Such sites limit the spread
of diseases and prevent overdoses.

Legalizing all drugs, as one letter writer suggests, is completely
ridiculous. There is a reason these drugs are controlled -- too often
people's lives are consumed by them.

We need to continue to adopt the four-pillar approach to drugs: enforcement,
education, harm reduction and treatment.
