DARE PROGRAM GETS $17,000
Halton police's long-running Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program
has received a $17,000 boost through an annual fund-raising event.
Howard Adams, an RCMP officer, announced the amount of the donation at last
week's police services board meeting.
The money comes from proceeds of the Real Men Can Cook event.
The DARE program sends officers into Halton's elementary schools to speak
with pre-teens about the dangers of drinking and drugs.
