HERE'S WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT SENTENCING OF MARIJUANA ACTIVIST MARC EMERY TO
THREE MONTHS
Marc Emery's sentence earlier this month was fair, and I support the judge,
in this case, upholding the law as it currently stands.
Marc Emery is not a political prisoner as another reader suggested, because
this has very little to do with politics.
Marc Emery's goal is to see the legalization of marijuana. However, he has
gone about this the wrong way. I support the decriminalization of marijuana
to take the pressure off our courts and police forces.
But what happened to protest rallies, petitions, and the other forms of
democratic protest?
Emery has decided to avoid the hard work, and just smoke up in front of
courts, police stations, and at any public event he can, in an attempt to
"stir the pot" and cause a controversy.
I applaud the judge for finally giving Mr. Emery a jail sentence, instead
of the fines he received for his many previous marijuana infractions.
