SCHOOL GUARD BUSTED IN SHABU CRACKDOWN

Three men, including a school security guard, were arrested in a raid
yesterday dawn in Barangay Lorega, Cebu City for their alleged
involvement in drug-related activities.

Police said the security guard, who is serving suspension for sleeping
on the job, was engaged in selling illegal drugs to some students of a
university in the city.

Security guard Efren Genobiagon and Archie Sacedor, of Barangay
Lorega, and Chito Pondar of Barangay Lahug were arrested after they
were caught in the act of sniffing shabu.

Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) 7
were implementing a warrant to search the house of Wewe Adolfo in
Sitio Lawis, Barangay Lorega.

Police applied for the search warrant after surveillance confirmed
that Adolfo is into the illegal drug trade.

Supt. Ritchie Posadas, chief of the intelligence and operations
section of CIDG 7, told reporters that Adolfo has been included in
their order of battle against suspected drug pushers.

Level 2

Adolfo could reportedly dispose of as much as 200 grams of shabu
weekly, making him fall under the level 2 category.

Adolfo, however, was not around when the CIDG 7 operatives implemented
the search warrant.

During the raid, Genobiagon yielded a .38 caliber revolver and 12 live
bullets.

In Adolfo's house, police seized three medium-sized and seven small
plastic packs of suspected shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia, a cell
phone, an electronic weighing scale and P3,800 cash.

Genobiagon, however, claimed that it was he, and not Adolfo, who owned
the house police were searching. He also said he owned the evidences
confiscated.

Posadas, however, said that based on their surveillance, Genobiagon
and Adolfo live in the same house.

Posadas also said that aside from Adolfo, Genobiagon is also involved
into the illegal drug trade.

"He (Genobiagon) is reportedly engaged in selling illegal drugs to
some of the students in the university," Posadas said of Genobiagon,
33, a security guard of Tri-Star Security Agency.

Right-Hand Man

Posadas added that Genobiagon is even Adolfo's "right-hand
man."

Genobiagon was detailed in one of the universities in Cebu City before
he was placed on a one-month suspension last May for sleeping on the
job.

(The name of the university is being withheld pending their side on
the matter.)

Genobiagon denied the allegation saying he started selling shabu only
in May. Genobiagon said he was detailed at the university for three
years.

"That is not true. I don't have student-clients. I did not sell drugs
when I was still detailed in that school. That is prohibited by our
security agency," Genobiagon said in Cebuano.

Genobiagon said he resorted to selling shabu because he had to sustain
the needs of his wife and two children.

He expected to repot back for work in June but he said he has not
heard any word yet from his superior.

Proper charges will be filed against the three men and Adolfo.
