RCMP CLAIMS THAT LASQUETI ISLAND IS A HAVEN FOR MARIJUANA GROWERS

The article about "Pot Island" -- Lasqueti Island -- talks of a
close-knit community, made up of long-time residents who have
supported each other for decades. So why do the police need to get
involved now? If the crime rate on Lasqueti is as low as the article
suggests, then what is the problem?

Though I have never been to Lasqueti, it seems to be an environment
that induces peace, harmony and respect for each other. I think it's a
shame the residents of Lasqueti felt the need to move to their own
island to enjoy this kind of community. Don't we all aspire to this?
