CHEMICAL GIANT GETS PROBATION

TULSA -- A federal judge imposed two years of probation on a Tulsa company
that authorities said was the largest known supplier of precursor
methamphetamine chemicals in the country. Allied Chemical Supply Inc.
pleaded guilty April 1 to conspiring to distribute chemicals with the
knowledge or a reasonable suspicion that they would be used to make meth.

The company also pleaded guilty to a money-laundering conspiracy.

As part of its plea, the company agreed to forfeit more than $100,000.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Catherine Depew said the money will be earmarked
for further law enforcement efforts.

Steven John Worley, 47, was sentenced July 8 to nine years in prison for
his actions while he was operating the company.

U.S. District Judge Claire Eagan also ordered the company to pay an $800
penalty, which will be taken from money other organizations still owe to
Allied.

Many of the company's assets were sold to an unrelated chemical company
that operates at Allied's former site.
