D.A.R.E. PROGRAM HOSTS EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES AT STATE FAIR

The Nebraska State Fair will soon be the site of the state's largest
classroom.

The Drug Abuse Resistance Education program, in a cooperative effort
with the Nebraska State Patrol and the Nebraska State Fair, will kick
off the day long festivities on Thursday.

This educational event is open to students in kindergarten through the
eighth grade who are accompanied by their teachers.

At 10 a.m. in the Bob Devaney Sports Center, there will be a 90-minute
DARE program including a speech by Spider-Man, a dance squad
performance and the talents of the Pro-Action Trampoline Acrobatics
Duo.

Students will also be treated to demonstrations by the State Patrol's
bomb robot, rollover simulations, a patrol dog and the SWAT team.

Admission to the fair is free for students, teachers, bus drivers and
sponsors who have signed up for the event. Anyone who is interested in

DARE is coordinated by the State Patrol and focuses on the importance
of good decision making.
