EMERY'S TREATMENT BIG EMBARRASSMENT
I'd like to thank the Saskatoon police for their excellent handling of
Marc Emery.
For passing a joint, he was charged with trafficking and a Saskatoon
judge gave a harsh sentence. This sets a great precedent. If a
peaceful act such as passing a joint buys 92 days in jail, for
something as serious as government fraud or police brutality
(something Saskatoon is growing very tired and ashamed of!) our judges
are going to break some heads at sentencing.
And to the policemen snooping around in the park across from the
courthouse at the Free Marc Emery vigil, you're doing a great job
picking and sniffing cigarette butts.
I'm not shocked to see our tax dollars spent as foolishly as this --
not in Saskatchewan, which is now known as Canada's equivalent of Alabama.
The judge that presided over Emery's case made a mockery of
sentencing, just as the police made a mockery of our laws.
I am embarrassed to say I live in Saskatchewan. Considering the low
wages, few opportunities, lack of scenery, outdated morals,
unprogressive politicians and cops, draconian judges, the fact that we
are the only province to outlaw liquor and stripping in the same area,
the tobacco ban, high taxes and all the other problems with
Saskatchewan, it is no wonder that our province is one of the few
places on Earth that is losing people yearly.
Let's see if we can get under 900,000 people by 2010.
