STORY OF CORRUPT COP BOGGLES THE MIND

THE CASE of that Tantallon RCMP officer jailed for selling confiscated dope
leaves me with two nagging questions, one for his bosses, one for him.

How come this corrupt man was able to waltz out of the office with the drugs
in the first place? Just what kind of security system do the Mounties have
in place these days? Are there no checks? Is there no accountability?

And for the tainted cop himself, what I want to know is, how could he do
this to those who loved and respected him?

It was stunning to read just how many people he's hurt, thanks to greed and
stupidity. His former colleagues have been emotionally devastated and his
wife and kids face financial hardship while he's behind bars.

No doubt the Mounties will see that the man's family is taken care of.

I'm sure he'll be taken care of too, albeit in a less kindly way, once his
fellow inmates learn his identity.

What a fool he was.
