SUDER'S PARTISAN POLITICS WRONG FOR WISCONSIN

69TH DISTRICT NEEDS CHANGE

Editor: I've been reading a lot of letters about Rep. Scott Suder in the
News-Herald lately, both pro and con. A recent letter from supporters in
Willard said Suder is "pro-life, pro-gun, lower taxes, smaller government
and [believes in] fairness to all."

But as chair of the Assembly Criminal Justice Committee in the
2001-2002 session, Suder proclaimed, "as long as he was chair of the
committee" a medical marijuana bill was going nowhere.

Suder's flat-out killing of the bill without allowing it a hearing is
a slap in the face to not only the democratic process but also to
anyone who has faced serious illness or their families and caregivers.

Shouldn't pro-life also apply to the already born? What is small
government about Scott Suder getting in the middle of decisions that
should be made by a doctor and their patient? What is fair about
denying our sick, disabledand seniors access to a medicine that has
been proven effective?

Suder's brand of politics is part of what's wrong in Madison. Time and
time again, Suder has put partisan politics ahead of doing what is
right for all the people of Wisconsin. The 69th district needs a change.
