SPACED-OUT AND SEEDY WHAT'S HAPPENING TO VANCOUVER?
Re: Coleman slams open pot sales, Sept. 9
As a resident of Commercial Drive, I find B.C. Solicitor-General Rich
Coleman's comments ironic. Mr. Coleman says, "It (marijuana sales) is
not something we want popping up on every corner ..."
Well, Mr. Coleman, it's been on every corner of The Drive for a while,
just not in a store. You can buy pot and any other drug from street
dealers on the corners and alleys around The Drive.
He also says it's ironic that Vancouver won't allow hard liquor sales
in beer and wine stores, but will turn a blind eye to pot sales. I
find this consistent, not ironic. I would much rather people buy in a
store selling only pot than from street dealers, who also offer hard
drugs to people who would otherwise buy only pot.
