READERS THINK THERE ARE WORSE CRIMES THAN SELLING A BIT OF POT
Talk about discretionary application of the law in this country.
The Sun has published numerous stories and columns about polygamy and
the alleged abuse of women and children in Bountiful. This has been
going on for years, and absolutely nothing has happened to stop it.
But a store that sells marijuana has been open just a few months and
streets are closed as if police were finishing off the last of the
Hells Angels!
Maybe Da Kine should have founded a polygamist club that happened to
sell some weed on the side and, luckily, nobody would pay attention.
Isn't it ironic that The Sun started a six-part series on crime on Friday?
Should we all now understand that it's just a matter of weeks before
all those criminal organizations are raided a la Da Kine? I'm not
holding my breath.
Just make marijuana legal, like alcohol. There'll still be drunks and
addicts. Just put them at the very end of the health care line for all
I care. But stop making displays of power against the little guy.
