ALESIA SENDS CARTELS ELSEWHERE

In response to Paul Armentano's "Speak Your Piece" in the July 27
issue, Operation Alesia may not eradicate the growing of marijuana in
the entire state of California. However, if these operations continue
by involving counties and agencies that are interested in ridding
their communities of these gardens, the drug cartels will stop sending
people to these communities to grow their marijuana. Instead they will
flock to other communities with a laissez-faire attitude regarding
this illicit drug.

So, let me be frank, that's fine with me. I can go to Shasta County
lakes and go hiking on Shasta County trails without being confronted
by undocumented workers carrying weapons while protecting their
gardens, and I do not have to accept an illegal activity just so long
as it is regulated by the government.
