POT SCENE FRIGHTENS NEIGHBOURHOOD FAMILIES
Re: Cafe's pot supplier run by ex-con jailed for weapons, drug offences,
Sept. 14
To all those who believe the Da Kine Smoke & Beverage Shop should be
left alone to go about its business:
My four-year-old daughter goes to Britannia pre-school. We walk her
there every day. Having the Da Kine "cafe" located less than a block
away from the school concerns me. Witnessing the marked increase in
the number of individuals doing drugs in the immediate vicinity of the
school alarms me. Finally, knowing that a lucrative cash business
dependent on pot sales might greatly increase crime in the area scares
the hell out of me.
Like many other parents of children in the area, I cannot fathom why
Da Kine remains in operation.
