POLICE HAD NO CHOICE
I believe that the police raid of Da Kine for selling marijuana is
justified and commendable. The sale of marijuana is against the law.
As members of a society, we are expected to obey all the laws of that
society, not only the ones we agree with. It is clearly unacceptable
for individuals to choose which laws to obey simply on the basis of
personal opinion or belief.
If we believe a law is outdated or inappropriate, there are avenues
open to us to try to campaign for it to be changed. Until a change
occurs, the breaking of that law is police business, and the police
cannot simply look the other way.
There must be consequences for breaking the law.
