HARM DONE BY DRUGS SHOWN IN RAEANIN'S STORY

Thanks for exposing the consequences and family pain of drug use in
the look back at Raeanin Simpson's life and death ("Downward spiral
ends in S.D.," News, Sept. 5). These truths are important for readers
to connect the dots between drug dealer convictions, drug seizures,
rising treatment needs and drugged driving deaths and injuries.

Drugs are illegal because they're harmful, not the other way around.
Policy-makers and families need to confront the growing acceptance of
drug use in our community.
