THE VERY REAL DANGERS OF USING MARIJUANA

What those of us who strongly oppose the legalization of any harmful
drug hope to do is reduce risks that threaten the health and
well-being of our youth. In the United States alone, about 100,000
people a year seek treatment for marijuana dependence, not because of
the legal complications, but because it is having negative effects on
their lives and the lives of their families.

It all comes down to what a person is willing to risk and what he
wants want from his life. The subtlety of marijuana's brain damage is
only one of its dangers. One who uses it may not recognize the brain
impairment that occurs.

New information is available to us that was not known even a few years
ago; we can say with assurance that research provides a clear answer
to this debate, for anyone willing to look at it.
