LEGALIZE IT, TAX IT
RE: SEPT. 14 Mailbag. Carl Willcox equates cannabis use with bank
robbery, murder and rape. Carl is caught in a time warp, still
existing in the reefer-madness era.The year is now 2004, and the
negative myths and stereotypes surrounding the use of this plant still
abound. Prohibition is a failure and always will be. Our police
services can be put to better use than busting grow-ops and users.
Legalize it, tax it, use the money currently being used on futile
prohibition for honest drug education and the development of a test
that can detect drivers impaired by pot.
