CULKIN CHARGED IN DRUGS CASE

Child film star Macaulay Culkin was charged Monday in Oklahoma County
District Court with two misdemeanor drug charges for the possession of
marijuana and prescription anxiety pills. Culkin, 24, was arrested
Friday after a traffic stop near Interstate 44 and Kelley Avenue. He
was a passenger in a rental car that was pulled over for speeding and
improperly changing lanes.

Police records show Culkin and the driver, Brett M. Tabisel, 22, of
New York, would likely have continued their New York-to-Los Angeles
trip with only a verbal warning if not for the pair's nervous appearance.

When Culkin was asked about marijuana, he looked directly at Oklahoma
City police officer Chad Cook and said, "Oh, certainly not."

When Culkin agreed to let police look inside a black bag he said
contained $3,000, Cook saw a plastic bag of marijuana.

"He hung his head down and appeared to be very upset," Cook said. "I
walked him back to my patrol car immediately."

Tabisel later admitted he knew about the marijuana and had been using
it with Culkin, the report states.

Culkin was described as looking pale and stressed as the officer
checked Tabisel's records, the report said.

Culkin also had "red watery bloodshot eyes," Cook said.

In addition to a plastic bag of marijuana, Cook found a silver
cigarette box holding six hand-rolled marijuana cigarettes, two burnt
marijuana cigars, eight pills of the anxiety drug Xanax and other
anxiety pills. Culkin told police he did not have a prescription for
the drugs.

Culkin, the lead actor in the films "Home Alone" and "Home Alone 2"
was booked into the Oklahoma County jail and posted $4,000 two hours
later.

Oklahoma County district attorney's office spokeswoman Debbie Forshee
said Culkin requested an attorney upon his arrest, but as of Monday
her office had not been contacted by a defense attorney.

No date has been set for an initial appearance.

Tabisel was cited for speeding and improperly changing lanes and
released.
