RCMP MAJOR DRUG BUST TARGETS BURNABY DEALERS
Drugs, Guns and Cars Were Seized and Eight Suspects Arrested Following a
Three-Month Investigation By Burnaby RCMP.
Police issued five search warrants and seized a large quantity of cocaine
(1619 grams), ecstasy (2,199 pills) and methamphetamine (25 grams). They
also recovered a stolen 38-calibre revolver, a loaded 9mm pistol, a Ruger
mini assault rifle and one stun gun. More than $30,000 in Canadian currency
and three vehicles valued at $45,000 was also seized.
The eight men arrested were charged with drug trafficking and possession,
as well as weapons offences.
The investigation targeted organized drug trafficking groups working and
established in the Burnaby area, said Corp. Pierre Lemaitre, communications
officer for the Burnaby RCMP.
