BETTER SAFE THAN STONED
This letter is in response to Russell Barth's comments about the
medicinal benefits of marijuana compared to those deemed "safe" by
pharmaceutical companies for arthritic pain (Letters, Oct. 4, "Pain
relief with giggles"). I cannot comment on the effectiveness of
marijuana for pain relief as I have never inhaled or ingested
marijuana; however, I do not have any worries or concerns about a bus
driver driving my child, or a pilot flying me to another city, who is
on prescribed medication for arthritis or pain.
I hope that Barth can realize that marijuana and public safety are
serious issues to be thought of. Until then I would like my child's
bus driver to be on anti-inflammatories rather than stoned on pot.
