31,000 MARIJUANA PLANTS SEIZED
Police have seized more than 31,000 marijuana plants in the Laurentides and
LanaudiPre district during the "Cisaille" program from August 26 to
September 24.
Some 15 people were arrested during the seizures that carried out by Sfrete
du Quebec, Royal Canadian Mounted Police and municipal police officers.
This marked the first time since Cisaille was launched in 1999 that a
special team was assembled for a month during the harvest season.
A partnership between organizations, the public and police is the most
effective weapon in the fight against crime, says the SQ. In emergency
situations, citizens are urged to call the SQ at 310-4141. To provide
information on a confidential basis, call Info-Crime Quebec,
1-800-711-1800. To speak directly to an officer, call 1-800-659-4264.
