CANNABIS RESEARCH SUPPRESSED

If the Oregon Medical Association sees little scientific evidence that
medical marijuana has therapeutic value, it's because the Drug
Enforcement Administration has systematically suppressed legitimate
research into cannabis and disavowed any research results that cast
marijuana in a favorable light for more than a quarter-century.

It's no surprise that law enforcement agencies, district attorneys and
organizations that fight drug abuse are opposed to Measure 33.
Opposition to marijuana is a big part of what keeps them in business.

A "yes" vote on Measure 33, however, would help ease their workloads
(or add to it, if that's their choice), and at the same time ease the
pain and suffering of thousands of patients who can benefit from
better access to medical marijuana. Think "win/win."
