SO YOU WANT TO BE A SENATOR?
The Wisconsin State Journal is asking the candidates for U.S. Senate in
Wisconsin questions posed by readers and reporters. We will run one question
each day until Nov. 1, when a summary of all the questions and answers will
be published.
Today's question: Medical marijuana: Yes or no?
Russ Feingold
(Democrat)
"States should be allowed to make decisions in this area, as they already do
with regard to licensing and setting standards of practice, and Congress
should not interfere."
Arif Khan
(Libertarian)
"Absolutely yes."
Tim Michels
(Republican)
"This is not a yes or no answer. The medical community has not reached a
consensus on the necessity of the use of marijuana for medical purposes.
Until they do, my answer is no."
