DON'T FORGET TO TAKE A STAND AGAINST ALCOHOL AND CAFFEINE

To the editor:

I hope the pastor is going to "stand up" against the evils of caffeine,
tobacco, and the most dangerous and addictive "drug" known to man, being
alcohol (Re: KLTW, Oct. 1).

It is my belief that alcohol is responsible for more than 50 per cent
of all crime (check it out Statscan), so I hope the pastor realizes
that it destroys more people than any "illegal" drug.....Education and
prevention and treatment are the only ways you'll ever wil. " Sharper
teeth" on more prohibition will simply make value go up and addiction
increase (it's a scientific fact, look it up....).

Lest we forget that over 80 years ago no drug was illegal and yet
addiction and use was at an all-time low (not just the number of
people doing it but per capita overall).
