VOTE FOR MEDICAL POT

We are Montana natives that moved to California in 1984. In 1992 our
14-year-old daughter was diagnosed with leukemia. After many months of
chemotherapy she got to the point that she could no longer hold
anything down and often lost her chemo medicine. We watched her become
progressively weaker. After much research we asked her doctor to try
marijuana. Her doctor agreed to prescribe Marinol (pill form of
marijuana). That evening we ordered Chinese food and a half hour
before the food arrived we asked her to take a pill. When the food
arrived she came from her room asking what was ordered. She filled a
plate and ate a full meal. It was the first time in several months
that we had seen her eat normally without nauseous results.

Before a third of her prescription was gone she no longer needed
Marinol and was eating meals with the family again. Physicians have
been using approved controlled medication to assist their patients for
decades. Please think about the ill on election day and vote yes for
I-148.
