HERE'S WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT DRUG USERS IN DOWNTOWN EASTSIDE

In response to Ann Livingston saying we need to prescribe heroin for
heroin addicts and cocaine substitutes for cocaine addicts, what's
next? Prescriptions for crack cocaine, alcohol and marijuana?

I liken this to terrorist ransoms. Why should working members of
society pay to keep our hard-earned possessions and money from being
stolen or damaged by drug addicts to feed their habits? Most of these
people are unable to contribute to society, so we already pay their
welfare.

Most support agencies in the Downtown Eastside accept junkies'
addictions and inadvertently keep them addicted.

It's time we stopped looking at these people as helpless victims and
make them responsible for their own solutions.
