TELLTALE SIGNS
Toronto Police say there are telltale signs of a grow house.
* Limited activity in and around the house.
* All windows are sealed.
* Lawns and surrounding property are ill-kept.
* No snow on the roof in winter due to hot temperatures on the inside of the
house.
* Windows show interior condensation.
* Pungent smell from the exhaust fans is detectable.
Toronto Police Insp. Wayne Pye says residents who believe they know of a
grow house location should call local police or Crime Stoppers.
The illegal houses not only deflate neighbour-hood housing prices, but also
cause a trickle-down effect that leads to more crime, he said.
