SMITH CELEBRATES RED RIBBON WEEK
Smith Middle School students, teachers and administrators this week
are demonstrating their commitment to a drug-free lifestyle.
Oct 25-29 is Smith's Drug-Free Red Ribbon Week, during which students
and teachers, encouraged by the Student Senate, are pledging to show
that they will remain drug free.
Monday was "We can be drug free" day. Students and faculty brought in
canned goods for the Solanco Community Food Bank. Food collections are
continuing all week. Also, students were encouraged to wear red to
support Red Ribbon Week.
Tuesday was "Put a lid on drugs" day. Students and faculty wore hats
or visors in support of Red Ribbon Week.
Wednesday was "Shade out drugs" day when students and faculty wore a
pair of sunglasses to show their smart choice to be drug free.
Thursday is "Team up against using drugs" day, with team jerseys
showing support for Red Ribbon week.
Friday will be "Follow your dreams" day when students are invited to
wear appropriate pajama bottoms to show plans for a drug free future.
