UNDECLARED VOTER GOING 'YES' ALL THE WAY ON THE THREE BALLOT PROPOSITIONS

I am a registered undeclared voter who does vote.

I vote for the candidate, not the party. I do not feel that our
president should be elected by popular vote. I'm undecided about
several of the candidates but there is no doubt for my choice for
state senator.

I met Mike Yourkowski at a September rally in Kodiak. He is very easy
to talk to; has a listening ear; and is very open-minded.

I like Mike, am pro-choice; we shouldn't use the PFD to balance the
state budget; the longevity bonus should never have been eliminated;
there should be no closed caucuses; bring in the fiber-optic line from
Anchorage; get gas prices lower; and consider alternative sources of
energy so we're not so dependent on oil and gasoline. Like me, Mike is
totally against the aerial hunting of wolves.

It is incorrect to say that Gary Stevens is running for re-election
(state senator.) He was never elected by the people! Two years ago he
was appointed by Gov. Murkowski. There is a difference, a big difference!

There are four ballot measures to consider. I will vote "yes" on No. 2
to legalize marijuana. If passed, it would become legal to use
medically. The hemp plant not only produces marijuana but fibers and
seeds. Cloth and rope are manufactured from the fibers. The seeds
produce hemp oil which goes into the manufacture of paints, varnishes,
soaps, lotions, etc.

I will vote "yes" on No. 3 to prohibit bear baiting or feeding. I am
not anti-hunting or anti-gun ownership, but to me, a good hunter
shouldn't/wouldn't rely on trickery or dirty tactics to entice a bear,
in order to get an easy shot. I even wish ATVs weren't allowed (for
hunting). Then we'd really see who were the determined, athletic and
good hunters.

On No. 4, temporary replacement of U.S. Senator, I'm voting "yes."
Gov. Murkowski appointed his daughter, Lisa, to fill this seat. A
person should be elected, not selected.

Please exercise your right to vote. This is a very important election
year. Become informed; don't vote blindly.
