JUNK FOOD A BIGGER KILLER THAN DRUGS

To the editor:

Re: Sometimes you just have to dog it, Adam Mercer, Op Ed, Aug. 5

Forget for a second that junk food will kill many times more Canadians
than all illegal drugs combined, and consider this; Our kids need to
learn that blind obedience and unwavering fealty is far more important
than free will, critical thinking, or sensible drug policy. So why
stop at sniffer dogs? Why not use daily urine tests for all students
at the front door? "Pee in the cup junior, or you don't get to learn
nothin' today!"

We need kids who will do what they are told, not free-thinkers who
might question authority! Teachers and cops can then continue with
their scientifically inaccurate propaganda about the "dangers" of
drugs, indoctrinating kids that drugs (the ones not advertised on TV
or sold in the hallway vending machines) are "bad", but the junk food
that will kill more than half of them before they are 60 years old,
can still be sold across the street at the 7-Eleven.

That said, kids dumb enough to actually bring their drugs to school,
deserve every bad thing that happens to them.
