DRIVING A PRIVILEGE, NOT A RIGHT
Like almost everybody else in this city, marijuana advocate Marc Emery
seems to have lost sight of an important point: driving is a
privilege, not a right.
I have no problem with Emery's crusade in the name of marijuana, but
he should learn to better pick his battles. With the number of people
dying in their vehicles in the Lower Mainland, it should be abundantly
clear that driving needs to be approached with a lot more respect and
caution than it is.
People speed, talk on cell phones, drive drunk and/or stoned. Nobody
should be supporting any of these activities on our roads.
