LEGALIZING DRUGS WILL ELIMINATE GANGS

Re: Two Die, Six Injured In Vancouver Attack, Aug. 10.

It is frightening, but no surprise that mob-style gun violence
claimed lives in a Vancouver restaurant last week. It's like the
1930s all over again. Gangs are thriving on prohibition, but this
time, alcohol is the only drug that's not being fought over. Why?
Because it's legally produced, sold and consumed. Can't we take a
lesson from history? Legalize all drugs. Treat drug abuse as a health
issue. Not very many people are going to start using heroin just
because it's legal. Legalize drugs and this will put an end to the
gangs and the violence they perpetuate.
