MOST HERMAN STUDENTS WANT TO BE SUCCESSFUL
Re: K. Basden's complaint about Herman students. I'm a successful graduate
from Herman high school and I'm now attending the University of Windsor.
I, just like all Herman graduates, plan on finishing university and
getting somewhere in life. I agree that smoking marijuana is wrong and
there is no need for it to be done. People, though, have to realize
that all high schools have students who smoke marijuana. Herman
students just happen to be the ones who get caught in the act.
Teachers have a job and that is to educate the students. The principal
and vice-principals have a job and that is to manage the school, put
rules down and make sure the rules are followed. It is not the
principal's job to babysit those students who decide to smoke marijuana.
Should the principal implant certain microchips into students so that
he can hunt them down when he gets a signal that marijuana is being
done?
Give your head a shake. Parents in that neighbourhood need to spend
less time complaining about Herman students and more time supervising
their children.
I walked to and from Herman for five straight years, taking a variety
of routes and every day there were kids being unsupervised, riding
bikes without helmets, running across the busy street and rolling
around on sidewalks onto the street. Tell me neighbourhood, how do you
know that your kids are being exposed to marijuana when you are not
supervising them?
Herman is an excellent high school whether you want to believe it or
not. This marijuana matter is just like the rest, anything to make
Herman look bad.
A majority of students have the same goals while attending Herman.
These goals are making friends, having fun and getting an education.
Go Herman.
