INFRARED CAMERAS WILL WEED OUT CRIMINALS

Re: "High technology finds its own door," Nov. 2.

The editorial on infrared surveillance is a load of rubbish.

The purpose of these flyovers is to discover illegal activities, and as
such, they should be ongoing. What you are saying is: Whatever happens
behind closed doors is no one's business but your own. Try telling that to
the abused family, or to people who have lost loved ones to terrorists or
drug pushers.

If infrared surveillance can weed out the criminals in our midst, or
indeed, any extremist who violates, or plans to violate, the law of the
land, it should be allowed to do so, unfettered by the sentiments of
bleeding heart politicians, judges and editors.
