COPS TRASH HOME IN RAID - COMPLAINT
WINNIPEG - A woman has filed a complaint over a police raid that she
says terrified her son and trashed her home during a recent search for
drugs. She told the Winnipeg Free Press that officers dumped the
cremated remains of her late husband onto the floor, overturned a
portable toilet and pointed guns at her son during the search on Wednesday.
"My son was hysterical. He was bawling," she said.
A police spokesman said the force can't comment on the complaints
because of a police review agency probe into it.
The woman said her son, 13, was home alone when police showed up. He
said some of them were wearing ski masks and ordered him to tell them
where marijuana was hidden. Cops found a single marijuana plant and
took it with them, her son said.
After two days of cleaning up the mess, she said she still hasn't seen
a warrant for the search.
