LOCAL OFFICER CHARGED IN GROW-HOUSE OPERATION IN SCARBOROUGH
A 13 Division police officer is among eight people charged with
drug-related offences following an eight-month investigation.
The joint forces probe, headed by Toronto Police, centred on a grow
house on Coronation Drive in Scarborough, where 525 marijuana plants
were seized, along with other drugs, cash and a replica handgun.
Const. John Tewogbade, 26, has been suspended with pay pending the
outcome of his case, police said. He worked as an officer at 13
Division for four years.
Tewogbade is charged with trafficking in marijuana, conspiracy to
commit the indictable offence of trafficking in a controlled
substance, obstructing a peace officer and breach of trust by a public
officer.
Tewogbade appeared in a Brampton court last Friday.
