COMMITTEE WANTS THOSE WHO DOWNPLAY MARIJUANA TO GET OFF THE POT
The Community Alcohol and Drug Action Committee (CADAC) invites the
community to another free workshop called: It's not JUST Pot! Facts About
Marijuana and Other Drugs on Thursday, Nov. 25 from 7-9 p.m. at the
Community Center.
This is a follow-up to the September workshop, Drugs, Alcohol and Kids -
They Don't MIX! Through evaluations, workshop participants asked for more
facts on drugs.
The RCMP and John Howard Society North Island professionals will share
their information and answer questions about drugs and prevention strategies.
CADAC is concerned about the view of marijuana as a "soft drug."
This workshop will address the physical effects of marijuana and the change
in potency of marijuana as well as facts on other drugs. They want to
challenge the view, "But its just Pot!" many professionals hear from people
using marijuana.
This program is sponsored by CADAC and John Howard Society North Island.
They are asking that people bring a non-perishable item for the John Howard
Society North Island youth kitchen.
If you would like further information, contact Denise, the Community Voices
Coordinator, at John Howard Society North Island 286-0611 or e-mail
