DON'T LET DRINKERS DICTATE POT LAWS
The whole point of marijuana decirminalization is that is is a matter
of democracy. We cannot have laws that are opposed by the vast
majority of Canadians.
Polls consistantly show that a very slim majority favor total
legalization and a decisive majority of around 70 per cent want some
sort of decriminalization.
Furthermore -- Prime Minister Paul Martin promised decriminalization
during the last election campaign. The NDP campaigned for complete
legalization. The people have spoken on this matter and the government
we elected should not be dissuaded from its course of action by bunch
of pushy corporate bosses who can generally be seen in public during
their three-martini lunches.
They want one rule for themselves and criminal records for the rest of
us.
