JAIL GUARD FACES TRAFFICKING CHARGES
A second correctional officer at the Central North Correctional Centre has
been charged, this time after banned substances were found inside the facility.
After a long investigation, OPP arrested a 37-year-old Oro-Medonte resident
after cocaine and marijuana were found in the jail.
He was charged with trafficking a controlled substance, and breach of the
peace. He is scheduled to appear in court in Midland on Jan. 6.
Another correctional officer was charged for bringing a controlled
substance into the workplace in March. That case is still before the courts.
In other police news:
- - OPP arrested a man in Tiny Township for assault after they got a call
about an intoxicated man with a chainsaw, who was threatening his
neighbours in D'Aoust Bay.
The 47-year-old Elmvale man returned to his own cottage, and was arrested
and charged with assault.
- - Thieves managed to sniff out a box of chocolates in Tay Township, but the
home owner is only concerned with getting some jewelry back.
OPP was called to a home on Franklin Drive after thieves broke in on Nov.
19. A box of chocolate truffles and two rings were taken. If you have
