RE MARIJUANA GROW-OP SERIES

I'm presently serving a federal sentence for growing pot and am familiar
with the cited dangers ("A ticking time bomb," Nov. 28). Some are
meritless. Those "dangerous" 1,000-watt halide bulbs and ballasts are the
same ones used to light sports arenas, malls and warehouses. Any recent
cases of blinding reported from that quarter?

Those "dangerous" fertilizers and pesticides are the same ones used to grow
tomatoes and green peppers. Want safety?

Eat and smoke organic.

Much of the risk your stories cited, though, is true. Illegal power
connections can be dangerous if not done by a qualified professional. Mould
is toxic.

So was bathtub gin -- but people swigged it down by the barrel load when
the government prohibited alcohol. Polls have proven the people want their
herb. They are going to get it one way or another.

Why not through a safe, effective and legal government-controlled
distribution system as has been recommended for years now?
