POT NOT THE PROBLEM

I would just like to applaud John Smith for his opinion on potheads and
crackheads (Chasing the wrong animal, Dec. 6).

The only drug busts you ever hear about on the news are the pot busts. What
are the police doing about the crack problem in the city?

I don't smoke either pot or crack, but I don't see anything wrong with
weed. John is right, you don't see potheads robbing people on the street so
they can get a joint.

But what do the police care? All of their time and effort seems to be going
toward busting the grow ops, not the monsters who are making thousands in
profits from crackheads who are hurting innocent people in order to buy a rock.

Something needs to be done -- and applauding the pot busts isn't one of them.
