CELEBRATE THE SEASON WITH MAGIC

For Fergus-based illusionist Ryan Joyce, every day is magical.

Since the young age of 10, the entertainer has dedicated his life to the
craft that awes and inspires audiences -- and he's bringing his
Impossibility Tour 2004 to town Dec. 18.

Returning to ODSS for the second year, Joyce's performance will not only
amaze audiences, but will help support a charitable cause.

Donating a portion of his proceeds to the Drug Education Alliance -- a
not-for-profit group that works to educate school children on the dangers
of drug use -- Joyce says the experience will be much more than just magic.

"Drug education is something that gets overlooked," says Joyce, who adds
it's important to remember the spirit of giving during the holidays. "We
hope to teach youth about making proper choices."

Howard Tiffin, founder of the Drug Education Alliance, says the
illusionist's efforts have gone a long way in helping the organization run
its programs.

"We're happy he's beating the bushes for us -- anything he brings in is a
bonus," says Tiffin. "What he does for us is two-fold. He gives us a few
dollars but he also gives us awareness."

This year, Joyce says audiences can expect more smoke and mirrors than
ever. With a whole new line-up of illusions, a bigger crew and a showcase
of dancers, he says spectators of all ages should prepare to be amazed.

"People can expect a lot more glitz and glamour," he teases. "They can
expect to be transported into a Las Vegas-style showroom and be able to
forget about their day and be brought into the age of innocence."

Still a very interactive show, he assures, the performance will inspire a
sense of wonder -- which is what drives him to keep making magic.

He says the timing couldn't be better -- with the holidays upon us and the
nostalgia they spark.

"This is a magical season, so it's a good way to celebrate the holidays,"
he offers. "It shows that anything is possible."

Tickets for the Dec. 16 show are $14 and available at the door, or by
calling 800-318-2865. Show time is 8 p.m.
