COSTLY PROHIBITION
Do supporters of our drug laws really believe the day marijuana is
decriminalized everyone is going to call in sick so they can stay home
and get high? In Holland, with its lax drug laws, drug usage is pegged
at 18% while the U.S., which has put one million citizens in prison
for possession alone, has a whopping 35% of the population using
recreational drugs. Prohibition has destroyed more families, cost more
lives, and wasted more tax dollars than 100 gun registries combined. I
would sooner see police looking for the criminals who broke into my
cars five times than worry where my friend (who has MS) is buying her
medicine.

(Legalizing pot for medical purposes or for general use are separate
issues.)
