OFFICER CLINT BURLEIGH HONORED FOR NARCOTICS WORK

On December 8th, Clint Burleigh of the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement
(CODE) team was recognized for his outstanding work in the area of
narcotics investigation.

The Oregon Narcotics Enforcement Association (ONEA) presented its
"Narcotics Officer of the Year" award for 2004 to Detective Clint Burleigh,
of the City of Bend Police Department. Det. Burleigh is currently assigned
to the CODE Team.

The award presentation was based on Detective Burleigh's continued
commitment to the investigation of narcotics offenses with the ultimate a
goal of raising the quality of life for the citizens of Central Oregon. He
was specifically recognized for his volunteer work for the Disabled
American Veterans Association, his continuous high volume of cases he has
solved, and his willingness to look beyond the arrest of suspects to
resolve issues that affect our communities.

Detective Burleigh is a third generation Bend Police Officer. Previous to
being assigned as a detective to the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team,
he was assigned to the Patrol Division of the Bend Police Department.

The Oregon Narcotics Enforcement Associations was formed in 1968 in order
to bring law enforcement officers from all local, state and federal levels
together for four primary objectives: Advance professionalism; improve
techniques of supervision in the field of narcotics enforcement; Enhance
unity in practices in conducting narcotics investigations; and promote
mutual cooperation in narcotics investigations

The Central Oregon Drug Enforcement (CODE Team is a multi-jurisdictional
narcotics task force comprised of detectives from all Central Oregon law
enforcement agencies including: Bend Police Department, Deschutes County
Sheriff's Office, Redmond Police Department, United States Drug Enforcement
Administration (DEA), Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Madras Police
Department, Warm Springs Police Department, Crook County Sheriff's Office,
Prineville Police Department, Oregon State Police, and the Oregon National
Guard.
