IS LEGAL COKE NEXT?
Editor, The News:
Proponents of legalized marijuana say it will cut crime and make money for
the government.
On that point, we have seen how government has collected money for specific
purposes and then the funds disappear into general revenue.
Apart from that issue, many citizens do not like the idea of government
being in this business.
For those citizens who unfortunately suffer from an illness and maintain no
other drug helps, a doctor's prescription may be obtained. Obviously,
marijuana must be a powerful substance.
Therefore, reports indicating long-term health problems from the use of
marijuana must also be checked, although this may not be a worry to
terminally ill people.
Many questions are unanswered. Do we continue to add more and more drugs to
the legal list?
After marijuana, will it be a personal stash of cocaine or heroin?
It is a bad example by government that asks citizens to follow good health
rules, yet would legalize harmful drugs.
